Senator Suhas Subramanyam highlights bipartisan policy achievements and unifying vision for the future at VA-10 Loudoun Chamber Forum

State Senator Suhas Subramanyam highlights bipartisanship and unity at debate.

Ashburn, VA – Democrat State Senator Suhas Subramanyam outlined a bipartisan, unifying vision for the future at the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce candidate forum today.

Senator Subramanyam stressed his track record in the General Assembly of taking on tough fights and delivering real results for 10th Congressional District families and businesses.

“I was proud to be a founder of the Commonwealth Caucus in the VA legislature, being a uniter across the aisle to deliver real results to our community,” said Senator Subramanyam.

Subramanyam pointed to legislation he passed to prevent toll increases on the Greenway toll road, get families and businesses refunds for utility overcharges, and bringing transparency to prescription drug pricing as examples.

“While talking to voters in Loudoun County, constituents told me that the Greenway Toll Road was too expensive. So I passed the very first bill in history to reign in those toll costs. VA’s State Corporation Commission (SCC) cited my bill in the ruling to block a 40% increase in tolls on the Greenway just a couple weeks ago,” said Senator Subramanyam.

During his closing statement, Senator Subramanyam also reaffirmed his commitment to protecting reproductive freedom, in addition to preserving our environment, building our local economy and continuing to lower costs for working families.

“We must take federal action on reproductive freedom and protect access to IVF and contraceptives. A woman’s zip code should not determine whether she has the right to bodily autonomy,” said Senator Subramanyam.
