Subramanyam speaks to his positive vision for the future at Prince William County Chamber of Commerce Forum

Ashburn, VA – Yesterday, Senator Suhas Subramanyam, the Democratic candidate in Virginia’s 10th congressional district, answered questions from Prince William County residents on a wide range of important issues. 10th district voters did not have the opportunity to hear answers from Senator Subramanyam’s opponent, who declined to participate.

“Unfortunately our opponent did not show up, but we were able to put forward a positive vision for the future,” said Subramanyam. “Debates and forums are an important opportunity for voters to hear directly from candidates about the issues at stake on the ballot. I showed up and demonstrated that I will prioritize showing up for Prince William County.”

In the candidate forum, Subramanyam stressed the need for elected officials to bridge the partisan divide. “I showcased my plan to be a uniter and work across the aisle to boost our economy and keep our community safe,” said Subramanyam.

He cited the role the Commonwealth Caucus, a bipartisan coalition he co-founded in Richmond, played in passing effective legislation in the Virginia State Assembly.

Subramanyam said, “We [as a bipartisan group] worked on the hard issues, and we talked and built a camaraderie that's missing sometimes. There are so many ways to divide us, but I hope we can be united again because that's what will be best for our country moving forward.”

Subramanyam looks forward to Friday’s debate with Mike Clancy at the upcoming Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce forum. The debate will be held on Friday, Sept. 20, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at The National Conference Center, 18980 Upper Belmont Place, Leesburg, VA 20176.
