Asian American Action Fund Endorses Suhas Subramanyam for Congress in VA-10
Endorsement Further Solidifies AAPI Consolidation Around Subramanyam’s Candidacy
Ashburn, VA – Today, Senator Suhas Subramanyam, Obama White House Alumnus and Candidate for Virginia’s 10th Congressional District, earned the endorsement of Asian Americans in Action Fund (AAA Fund), AAA Fund is the oldest nonprofit, Democratically-aligned political action committee seeking to elevate the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander community’s voices at every level of government across America.
AAA Fund joins Indian American Impact Fund and Hindu American PAC in solely supporting Subramanyam’s candidacy.
“Virginia’s 10th Congressional District is a critical pick-up opportunity for Asian Americans in Congress, and a must-defend seat to retake the House majority,” said Albert Shen, National Chair of AAA Fund. “We’re proud to support Senator Subramanyam’s candidacy as a staunch supporter of Asian American issues and as the only Asian American in the race with a clear path to victory.”
“I am honored to receive AAA Fund’s support in this critical race,” said Senator Subramanyam. “I will always stand with the Asian American community - that’s why I’ve authored and passed bills that help stop Asian hate, advocated against bullying in schools, and fought to include Asian languages as dual immersion programs. I will keep fighting for our communities in Congress.”
AAA Fund’s oldest chapter is the Virginia chapter, with a long history of raising funds for Asian candidates and reaching out to Asian American voters in Virginia.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, VA-10 has a 15.4% Asian population, with 6.8% Asian Indian, 1.5% Korean, 1.5% Vietnamese, and 1.2% Chinese.

Senator Suhas Subramanyam has dedicated his life to public service as a State Senator, Obama White House advisor, Capitol Hill staffer, and as a Loudoun volunteer firefighter/EMT. In Richmond, he has worked across the aisle to pass gun violence prevention bills, protect democracy, and defend abortion rights. Senator Subramanyam is best positioned to keep VA-10 in Democratic hands because he represents more VA-10 constituents than any of the 16 primary election candidates, and he has consistently outperformed the Democratic ticket and delivered for his constituents. Suhas resides in Ashburn, Virginia (in VA-10) with his wife, Miranda, and their two daughters.
