Statement on assassination attempt of former President Trump.
Subramanyam condemns Political Violence, joins in praying for the victims and urging to lower the temperature in politics
Ashburn, VA – “I am dismayed by the events that unfolded this past weekend and want to express my my sincere condolences to all the victims, including the family of Corey Comperatore, who was tragically killed this past weekend while peacefully attending the rally. I also wish continued safety and a speedy recovery for former President Trump and others injured at the event.”
“We must come together as a nation to not only condemn political violence, but to actively work every day to prevent it by lowering the temperature in our politics and leaving room for diverse perspectives and opinions. The prevalence of political violence threatens our democracy and silences ideas. We can and must do better, and I will continue to commit my life to bettering our country and being a part of the solution.” said Virginia State Senator Suhas Subramanyam.
