(Sterling, Va.) - Suhas Subramanyam, Democratic candidate for Delegate in District 87, has been endorsed by LiUNA’s local branch, the Baltimore/Washington Laborers District Council (BWLDC). LiUNA is the most progressive and fastest-growing union of construction workers, and one of the most diverse and effective unions representing public service employees. The BWLDC represents Local 572, Local 11, and 710, which comprises more than 7,100 members, many of whom live and work in Northern Virginia.
“I’m honored to be endorsed by the BWLDC,” said Subramanyam. “Throughout my career, I have been a champion of unions and workers’ rights, and I vow to continue that work when I am elected. Our communities cannot continue to flourish unless we treat our workers with fairness and respect.”
"Suhas's command of the issues in Loudoun and Prince William Counties, as well as his long history of public service, makes him an excellent candidate to represent the 87th House District,” said David Allison, BWLDC business manager.
LiUNA/BWLDC joins Run for Something (RFS), and several other Senators and Delegates, including HD-87 incumbent Delegate John Bell in their support of Subramanyam’s candidacy.
Suhas Subramanyam is a small business owner and attorney in Sterling, Virginia.
